Stoney McGurrin, in his debut book, brings us on the adventure of his lifetime. Look at It This Way answers questions we all may have been reluctant to ask, it gives us a glimpse into what blind people experience living in a sighted world, and it breaks through barriers that may cause people to think that differences equate to superiority or inferiority.

In 1895, a specialist straps five-year-old Katharine Hathaway, then suffering from spinal tuberculosis, to a board with halters and pulleys in a failed attempt to prevent her from becoming a “hunchback” like the “little locksmith” who does odd jobs at her family’s home. Forced to endure her confinement for ten years, Katharine remains immobile until age fifteen, only to find that none of it has prevented her from developing a deformity of her own.

As a result of complications during the birthing process, Amanda was born with cerebral palsy. This book recounts the trauma she experienced as a child, enduring physical, mental, sexual, and emotional abuse from her family, and having a mother who cannot tolerate her cerebral palsy. Amanda found comfort and solace in her grandmother, her '"Gragwa", throughout her childhood. Amanda exposes the naked truth of life with cerebral palsy as she deals with growing up and various relationship issues, friendship issues, loss, and many other things.

Bill Rush lived with a significant disability of quadriplegic cerebral palsy. He did not have use of his arms, hands, or voice. Society’s prejudices proved to be a greater obstacle than his disability in attaining his first life goal of completing college. Rush chronicled his extraordinary life from childhood until graduation from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in Journey Out of Silence, first published in 1986. This second edition brings back into print Bill's original chronicle. It also contains an introduction to Our Life Our Way, the sequel.

For 20 years, Lisa Murphy, Jeff Murphy, and a group of volunteers traveled the world with the Mobility Project, delivering mobility to the poorest people on the planet. They helped tens of thousands of disabled poor to gain mobility and hope. I began to write then, and have continued over the last 24 years, as one painful memory after another was slowly revealed. Recently I figured out what had happened to my mother, and therefore to me. Two more major insights totally freed me. I could then finish Missing Pieces.
