There's going to be a Wishing Well Dance at Madison High, and everyone wants a lock of Miss Brooks' hair. To most of us a school dance isn’t the most exciting thing in the world but to our Miss Brooks, the one planned for last Friday night was a most welcome diversion.

Miss Brooks has been named Mother Away from Mother. To most people, a warm day in May suggests a drive in the country or a leisurely picnic, but to our Miss Brooks who teaches English at Madison High School, it has a far different significance.

Miss Brooks becomes a taxidermist. Her first job is Mr. Conklin's prize bass! For many teachers, June 17 marks the last day of regular school term, and this also applies to our Miss Brooks, who teaches English at Madison High School. But unlike many other teachers, however, she had volunteered for summer school duty. 

It is the start of the first semester and after a hard day in a faculty meeting, Miss Brooks has just retired to bed and dozed off when there is a knock at the door. It is the principal on a drive for more discipline, less horse-play, towing-of-the-line, and running of the school in an orderly manner.

For many people, Friday the 13th brings a feeling of pending misfortune. But our Miss Brooks, who teaches English at Madison High School, doesn’t believe in such superstition. 

Mrs. Davis leaves with the key to Madison High, and no one can get into school! Not many people like to get up early in the morning but our Miss Brooks, who teaches English at Madison High School, doesn’t seem to mind at all. In fact, she gets quite a kick from getting up in the morning, because it offers proof positive that she managed to live through the day before!

Who's been sending romantic poetry to Harriet Conklin? Our Miss Brooks manages to keep pretty busy teaching English at Madison High School but in spite of her preoccupation with her own subject, she’s managed to find quite a bit of time lately to pursue the study of biology.

Mrs. Davis uses $25 intended to be deposited in the school savings account to buy Miss Brooks a new dress. Miss Brooks, the English teacher at Madison High School, has been busy, but not busy enough for the warden. She ends up taking responsibility for the students' money with disastrous consequences.

There's going to be a grudge fight between Walter Denton and Stretch Snodgrass over the hand of fair Harriet Conklin. Walter and Stretch were the best of friends until one night when Walter found out that his best friend had been to the movies with his girlfriend Harriet.

Miss Brooks babysits, which gives everyone the idea that she's sharing a love nest with Mr. Boynton! Although our Miss Brooks teaches English at Madison High School, her problems, like those of any other teacher, aren’t always confined to purely scholastic ones. There’s Mr. Philip Boynton for instance, the biology teacher for whom Miss Brooks is extremely fond. And who in return lavishes his affection on his frogs and guinea pigs.

As we look in on 321 Bundy Drive, Sheridan Falls, it's late afternoon. Liz is just arriving home from her club meeting and is met at the door by George. Liz has had a very educational day at the club today. They had a lecture on older people and how they can be kept happy and useful, but as Liz has no hobbies, the lecturer pointed out that she's on a slippery slope to being lonely and unhappy when she gets older. So she's going to get a hobby!

George's new secretary has a crush on him, and Liz's old love letters aren't of much help.

Liz fakes a cold to fool George's mother, but the plan backfires and the whole neighborhood thinks the Coopers are expecting.

Liz and Iris are determined to learn how to play baseball. It’s the bank's day out on Sunday, and the employees of the bank have been divided in to baseball teams. George is captain of one of them and Mt Atturbury is captain of the other one. However, they won’t be playing this year, as a new rule means that you can’t play unless your wife plays. Liz and Iris take it upon themselves to ring the bank and put themselves forward, even though they know very little about baseball!

As we look in on lazy little Sheridan Falls, the hometown of the Coopers, we find many signs that summer’s over. The leaves are turning red, the Coopers are turning their faces toward home after their summer vacation, and Liz is hoping all her friends will turn green when they see how she has turned brown....

A swami at the Gypsy Tea Room predicts that one of Liz's old flames will reappear to menace her marriage.

Adolescent Sally Hopkins can't get a date for the party, so Liz volunteers husband George. As we look in on the Coopers this morning, something new has been added. There is a moving van in front of the house next door, but of course the new neighbors don’t interest Liz Cooper in the least....

Liz and George Cugat are the famous couple who live together and like it!

Liz invites a famous big game hunter home to dinner to meet her husband, whom she claims is a big game hunter, too.
