Surviving God takes a new approach, centering the voices of sexual abuse survivors while rethinking key Christian beliefs. The overall message of this book is this: Victory is realistic and within our grasp no matter the violation. As a sexual abuse survivor, I know that true and lasting healing from sexual trauma involves a recognition of the importance of both the physical and spiritual dimensions of wholeness. What's unique about this book, and what I haven't personally encountered in any other book or through any other counseling in the 35 years I've been on this journey, is that the physical is tethered to the spiritual.
