In an isolated village high in the Armenian mountains, a close-knit community bickers, gossips, and laughs. Their only connection to the outside world is an ancient telegraph wire and a perilous mountain road that even goats struggle to navigate. As they go about their daily lives - harvesting crops, making baklava - the villagers sustain one another through good times and bad. Presented in a matter of fact approach, this weave of tales is understandable and unbelievable. The behaviors of her siblings, parents and grandparents sets the stage as we are introduced to her family’s manipulation and continuous plotting and truth twisting. Each character gives the listener an inside view of how they embraced and expressed their emotional and social deficiencies and used them as a method of control, abuse, and extreme cruelty.
