Story
The volcano - among the most familiar and perhaps the most terrifying of all geological phenomena. However, Earth isn't the only planet to harbour volcanoes. In fact, the solar system, and probably the entire universe, is littered with them. Our own Moon, which is now a dormant piece of rock, had lava flowing across its surface billions of years ago, while Mars can be credited with the largest volcano in the solar system.

Story
Fire is rarely out of the headlines, from large natural wildfires raging across the Australian or Californian countrysides to the burning of buildings such as the disasters of Grenfell tower and Notre Dame. Fire on these scales can represent a serious risk to human life and property. But the advent of fire made and controlled by humans also represented a crucial point in our evolution, allowing us to cook our food, forge our weapons, and warm our homes.

Story
Oil and Water is a podcast that slows down to ask questions about our relationship with oil and the fossil fuel industry. Keystone XL has been held up in court in Great Falls, but construction continues. Nearby Indigenous communities on the Fort Peck Reservation are speaking out about the risks, and their Council Chairman Lance Four Star says their voices aren’t being heard. But the story of an industrial project putting Indigenous people at risk is not new: the context is as deep as the history of white settlement in North America. How are communities and individuals across the continent ...
