Als Fettes den Namen des Notarztes hört, wird er leichenblass: McFarlane! Etwa der McFarlane, mit dem Fettes damals Leichname für den Anatomiekurs auf nächtlichen Friedhöfen ausgegraben hatte? Eine wunderbar klassische Gruselgeschichte für Fans des Genres.

Keawe ist ein durchaus glücklicher Mensch, aber ein bisschen mehr Glück wäre natürlich auch nicht schlecht. Also schlägt er zu, als ihm eine besondere Flasche angeboten wird - eine Flasche, die sämtliche Wünsche erfüllt. Doch natürlich hat diese Flasche ihren Preis, und dieser Preis ist verdammt hoch, wie sich herausstellt. Stevensons Geschichte ist wunderbar einfach erzählt und spannend bis zum Schluss.
