When Jack starts to build his own do-it-yourself house he finds it isn't quite as easy as he had expected.

It is bedtime. Jack and Mole read then dream of moons and stars. In the night, a moonbeam carries them to the crumbly moon, where they meet the Pops, who change color and hover and fly.The Pops scoop up Jack and Mole and take them to play in their playground. Later, they picnic on star soup and moon cheese and mole munches slugs. Soon Jack is sleepy and longs for home, when Mole disappears. Moonbeam returns and says they must return to Earth. But Jack is tearful, he can't leave without Mole. Then a young Pop finds a line of molehills and a dusty Mole, and Jack laughs in relief.
