Feisty enchanted hedgehogs with eye-watering gas, a half-dragon with an attitude, and a headless corpse aren't the best things to start the day with! But that's what we encounter in our first week working for animal control in Crimson Cove. We'd only come here to find a missing person but got more than we bargained for. As an enchanted cat, few things phase me, but even I wince when my wonderful witch, Zandra Crypt, finds a body missing its head.

When a visiting angel dies in mysterious circumstances in Crimson Cove, covered in bites that look like they were made by a ghoul, my wonderful witch goes into full-on panic mode. She's convinced her ghoul mother is the killer. But I'm not so sure. Ghouls are chaotic and dangerous, but there's something bigger going on. How do simple bites kill an almost immortal creature? Who is leaving all those enormous footprints in the woods? And why do non-magicals keep getting through our protective wards?

Crimson Cove already feels like home, but sometimes it's not always sweet. When I meet a misunderstood murder suspect, I know something is wrong. How did one bad-tempered badger destroy an ancient vampire? With my wonderful witch, Zandra Crypt, by my side, I poke my adorable booping snooter into this mystery to make sure the angels don't make a mess of the investigation. No innocent furball goes down for a crime they didn't commit when I'm around.

Fanged trouble comes to the magical small town of Crimson Cove. Who's getting bitten? How did the werewolf lose his head? No, it's not a joke. Crimson Cove is awash with warring werewolves. And I'm not purring. Werewolves mean trouble. And then there's the continued invasion of non-magicals. Why are they here? How do they keep sneaking in? It's another thing that has my fluffy murder mittens twitching. When top werewolf negotiator Emron Laker loses his head, the trouble bubbles and risks boiling over as werewolves rampage and demand justice.

In But a Wandering Voice, the Returned are hell-bent on taking the White House. The Knight Nurses of the Order of St. John are fearless in combat, but they are no match for the Returned’s propaganda machine. When a magic ritual goes awry at the end of the first crusade, a group of Knights Hospitaller are mistakenly made immortal, doomed to be reborn after each death. The knights fight with sword and magic, and, like the Hospitallers they once were, they care for the sick and dying.

Life Is but a Dream is an intriguing compilation of insights learned during one man's life as he rowed down his stream on his first 50 years of his journey. Each of these seven short stories is filled with compelling observations on the definition of one's individual reality. They are present in different, interesting, and entertaining plots and are woven around unique perspectives of what your reality is or might be.
