Eigentlich sollte Marlowe nur eine junge Frau im Bahnhof von Los Angeles ausfindig machen: "Es war kein Kunststück. Der 'Super Chief' war pünktlich, wie fast immer, und meine Zielperson stach heraus wie ein Känguru im Smoking."
