Il est assis dans son étude, plongé dans la mélancolie et la tristesse, lorsque le corbeau entre mystérieusement dans la pièce. Ce personnage solitaire est en proie à une douleur profonde et à une obsession de la perte, et le corbeau devient un symbole de cette douleur persistante et inexorable. Le poème met en lumière l’idée que la douleur du deuil peut mener à une quête d'oubli, mais que cette quête se heurte inévitablement à la réalité de la perte, un thème central dans l’œuvre de Poe.

The Prince decides to host a masked ball to ease everyone's fears.
