Anne and Gilbert begin their life together in Anne's House of Dreams, a continuation of the story that began with Anne of Green Gables. First published in 1917, the L. M. Montgomery series continues with Anne as a new bride making new friends wherever she finds them. They settle on the seashore at Four Winds Point, an area near the village of Glen St. Mary on Prince Edward Island, Canada. She is befriended by the capable Miss Cornelia Bryant, kindly old sea Captain Jim, and the beautiful, mysterious figure of Mrs. Dick Moore.

After a trip to London, Anne Blythe learns that a new minister, John Meredith, has arrived in Glen St. Mary. Soon, Anne's six children become friends with the four Meredith children who, having recently lost their mother, have a reputation for running wild. The children all meet and play in a hollow called Rainbow Valley, where they begin to concoct plans for protecting their orphaned friend Mary and finding a wife for the widowed minister. Rainbow Valley was published in 1919 and was the fifth book to feature the beloved protagonist from Anne of Green Gables.

The second installment in the ever lively and ever moving chronicles of Anne Shirley, Anne of Avonlea follows the spunky child as she grows into a caring and optimistic young woman. Working as a teacher as well as continuing her own education, Anne must learn to navigate the responsibilities and expectations of young adulthood while feeling her emotions just as deeply, loving others just as sincerely, and living with the same unquenchable thirst for adventure as ever.

Now a college student, Anne Shirley pursues her studies in Kingsport while finding herself pursued romantically. In between, she navigates the life changes her friends and family back in Avonlea are undertaking, while navigating her own sense of home, and all with the indomitable spirit that has made Anne a beloved classic character.

Anne, a young orphan from the fictional community of Bolingbroke, Nova Scotia (based upon the real community of New London), is sent to Prince Edward Island after a childhood spent in strangers' homes and orphanages. Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert, siblings in their 50s and 60s, had decided to adopt a boy from the orphanage to help Matthew run their farm. They live at Green Gables, their Avonlea farmhouse on Prince Edward Island. Through a misunderstanding, the orphanage sends Anne Shirley.

The first thing every listener will want to know is whether Anne Shirley appears in these stories of Avonlea and Spencervale. She certainly does. As a matter of fact, page one starts off in this manner: "Anne Shirley was curled up on the window seat of Theodora Dix's sitting room one Saturday evening, looking dreamily afar at some fair starland beyond the hills of sunset. Anne was visiting for a fortnight of her vacation."

Anne is adopted by the Cuthberts even after a great mistake at the orphanage. But the frail red-headed young girl stays, even though not wanted at first. She is raised strictly but lovingly by the Cuthberts whose world is set upside down by her wonderful, creative and sometime crazy and eccentric ways. In the end, she gives them endless joy as she grows into womanhood.

In the seventh book of the Anne of Green Gables series, Anne and Gilbert Blythe have been happily married for over a decade and have six children. The children take center stage in this story, as they befriend the four children of a new minister in tow, John Meredith. After John’s wife died, he has buried himself into theological studies, and lets his children run free. And though the children are generally kind and loyal, the townsfolk only really notice them on the occasions where they’re getting into trouble.

Rainbow Valley was written in 1919 by L. M. Montgomery for the series that began with Anne of Green Gables. Anne and Gilbert's children are growing up! Their new friends, the Merediths, live in the Manse nearby. When the Merediths aren't playing in the graveyard or riding pigs through town, they meet up with the Blythes to play, fish, and study insects in Rainbow Valley!

Anne loves Marilla and Matthew with all her heart—they took her in, gave her a home, and encouraged her to follow her dreams. Green Gables will always be her home, but Anne is starting to wonder if one day she might find somebody special and make a new life ...

Anne has two exciting things to look forward to—the Avonlea concert and then her first ever sleepover at Diana's. However, Aunt Josephine is also visiting Diana's house and she is offended by Anne's impulsive actions. Will Anne find the words to smooth things over?

Inspired by the characters from her own imagination, Anne decides to dye her red hair raven-black. Although it doesn't quite go to plan, Anne soon bounces back. But her next attempt to turn a story into reality goes even more badly wrong ...

Anne has been asked to recite a poem at a concert but she feels very shy next to the professional performers. Will her nerves get the better of her on the big day? And how will Anne cope when she leaves Green Gables to study at Queen's Academy? Anne must hold her own against some old rivals ...

Anne is starting to think about her future, and she'd like to become a teacher. That means she must pass the entrance exam so she can go to college. Anne throws herself into her studies, but she has a rival for top place-Gilbert Blythe. Who will be the winner in this epic battle of wits?

Anne is really looking forward to performing in the school concert. In all the excitement, she forgets about her old-fashioned clothes. But Matthew notices, and he wants to do something about it. Buying a fashionable dress will mean speaking to strangers—how will Matthew cope?

Anne lets her imagination run riot as she tells her friends fantastical stories of ghosts and monsters. It all seems like good fun—until Marilla needs Anne to run an errand at night. The woods aren't really haunted ... are they?

When Mr. Harrison moves next door, he soon clashes with Anne. Mr. Harrison is furious that Anne's cow keeps breaking into his field and eating his oats. When Anne discovers her cow has escaped again, she makes an impulsive decision-one that gets her into even deeper trouble!

Dear old Miss Lavendar has a heart as young and merry as Anne's own. But living in the woods with only her maid for company has made Miss Lavendar rather lonely. Can Anne do anything to bring love back into her life?

The minister and his wife are coming to tea, and Anne wants everything to be perfectly elegant. Disaster strikes when Anne drops the beautiful, borrowed serving platter. There's no way around it, Anne must find a new platter. But doing so leads her into even more trouble than before....

Once again, Anne finds herself competing against Gilbert Blythe. If Anne wins the Avery scholarship, she can continue her studies—but if the Avery is given to Gilbert, Anne's dreams will be dashed. Whose name will top the list when the winner is announced?
