The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka tells the story of Gregor Samsa, a traveling salesman who wakes up one morning transformed into a giant insect. Unable to communicate and increasingly alienated from his family, Gregor becomes a burden. Once the family’s provider, he is now confined to his room, suffering neglect and isolation. As time passes, his presence becomes unbearable to his family. Eventually, Gregor dies, and his family feels relieved. The story explores themes of alienation, identity, and the dehumanizing effects of modern society. Summary by Lina
