The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes is a collection of 12 stories by Arthur Conan Doyle that were originally published in Strand magazine from July 1891 to June 1892. This collection includes some of Holmes' most famous cases.

Ma con questa serie di avventure Cona Doyle, definendole appunto “Ultime” intendeva metter fine al suo forse tropo celebre personaggio, pertanto , nell’ultimo episodio, fa entrare in scena il celeberrimo prof Moriarty, l’unico, a detta di Holmes, di porre fine alla sua vita e alla sua indefessa lotta per il bene.
