in the final episode of this season of macabre, we travel into the darkness to take a closer look at the legend of the van meter visitor.   for five nights in the fall of 1903 the town of van meter, iowa was terrorized by a mysterious winged creature.  the figure appeared each night around one o’clock in the morning, startling citizens with a dazzling light coming from its forehead.  though the visitor never actually harmed anyone, it’s appearance was alarming.  what was it?  where did it come from?  and what did it want?  could it have been a demon?  or something much more sinister?  we’ll leave it up to you to decide what’s real.
