They took their 10th annual trip with good friends to see their friend Sandra Bernhard launch her new show at Joe's Pub with dinner at Indochine before, It was super fun and inspiring as always. They spent the night at Hotel on Rivington, one of the House of Kooser properties, and they loved it with an amazing corner room with insane views of the city. Then they headed off for the airport to head to NOLA.

Join Anne & Kelli for their 298th NEW episode of #ilovemywife podcast and their end of the year episode! This one was actually recorded from aboard a Uniworld Rivercruise on a Classic Christmas Markets cruise through Germany where Kelli was hosting the entire ship on an LGBTQ hosted week and Anne was the special guest entertainer. They chat about flying to Frankfurt to begin the journey. They stayed at a really cool hotel called Roomers and had birthday dinners for Anne's Musical Director Will and Kelli's business partner Gregg.

Next, they boarded The River Dutchess and were greeted by the Cruise Manager Ramona who they have sailed with many times before. Anne tells a very funny story about setting up all the sound equipment and accidentally thinking The Captain was someone else. They tell you about the warmer weather then they expected, the food at the different Christmas Markets that included a classic frankfurter, lots of Gluwein (mulled wine), lots of stands full of everything you could ever want and so much more. They also talk about Anne's show, piano bar with Will, a onesie dance party, massages on board, Anne's packing obsession and how much fun the whole experience was for both of them.

Then hear about their holiday traditions both as children and as a family together. They also talk about what they are looking forward to in 2026 and new year's resolutions. This episode is actually recorded from their home where they had a few days of downtime before heading off on another trip! They talk about decorating early for Christmas and when is too early? They enjoyed a little time with their son Blake setting up their BIG tree that DID fit into their new place, had a family dinner in the city at Carmine's uptown, had Chinese food & hung ornaments with Blake & his wife Teresa & watched the Packers game while packing for their big Thanksgiving trip to Louisiana.

Next, they talk about shows they finished and binged that included The Morning Show on Apple TV, The Diplomat on Netflix, The Beast in Me on Netflix and It's All Her Fault on Peacock. They also are loving Tournament of Champions Holiday Edition and The Great British Baking Show Holiday Edition on Netflix.

Now hear about them heading off to New Orleans! They talk about the hotel they tried for the first time, The Nopsi Hotel and how they received a $100 food and beverage credit and each got a $30 breakfast credit. That's what happens when you book through a Travel Advisor like Kelli! Kelli's brother Charles and his wife Kath joined them at the hotel for lunch and for the night ahead. They found out that Kelli's Mom Mellie had just tested positive for the flu so that was a bummer. They then went to Kelli's sister Claire's practice, Audubon Facial Plastics, and had their bi-annual Botox! After that they all went to dinner at Commander's Palace, a classic in New Orleans, and had a lovely family dinner. The next morning Charles & Kath both also tested positive for the flu and they all had to drive to Baton Rouge wearing masks the whole way in the minivan.

When they arrived in Baton Rouge the flu family had to isolate and if they ever came out they wore masks as well as Anne & Kelli, because they were being extra cautious not to catch the flu because of Anne's upcoming concert and Kelli's upcoming River cruise. The following days involved many dinners, visiting family in Sunshine, Louisiana, a Packers WIN, making Mac & Cheese with Vivi and Kelli's special Green Bean Casserole, a big Thanksgiving dinner, lots of emergen-c and finally flying home with Vivi loaded up with Calvin's chicken salad for everyone!
