If you're talking to coachees about their role, their career or their work colleagues, you may find that they have quite narrow ways of viewing what works and what doesn't work in their team.
They may view the way they go about things as the right way and can't understand why other team members don't just behave in the way that they do. They may express concern, or frustration, at their team members' varying attitudes towards the work that needs to be done.
In this episode we explore why it's important to have some diversity of thought and behaviour within an effective team. Tom shares his knowledge of Belbin Team Roles, a concept and a tool that helps individuals and teams better understand how they might work more effectively together.
The conversation highlights the need for complementary skillsets and different ways of individual team-members operating in order to develop a team that is both cohesive and performing well.
