    路加福音 Luke 25到一位童贞女那里，她已与达味家族中的一个名叫若瑟的男子订了婚，童贞女的名字叫玛利亚。 25Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he hath had regard to take away my reproach among men. 26天使进去向她说：「万福！充满恩宠者，上主与你同在！」【在女人中你是蒙祝福的。】 26And in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God into a city of Galilee, called Nazareth, 27她却因这话惊惶不安，便思虑这样的请安有什么意思。 27To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. 28天使对她说：「玛利亚，不要害怕，因为你在天主前获得了宠幸。 28And the angel being come in, said unto her: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. 29看，你将怀孕生子，并要给他起名叫耶稣。 29Who having heard, was troubled at his saying, and thought with herself what manner of salutation this should be. 30他将是伟大的，并被称为至高者的儿子，上主天主要把他祖先达味的御座赐给他。 30And the angel said to her: Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found grace with God. 31他要为王统治雅各伯家，直到永远；他的王权没有终结。」 31Behold thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and shalt bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name Jesus. 32玛利亚便向天使说：「这事怎能成就？因为我不认识男人。」 32He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the most High; and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of David his father; and he shall reign in the house of Jacob for ever. 33天使答复她说：「圣神要临于你，至高者的能力要庇廕你，因此，那要诞生的圣者，将称为天主的儿子。 33And of his kingdom there shall be no end. 34且看，你的亲戚依撒伯尔，她虽在老年，却怀了男胎，本月已六个月了，她原是素称不生育的， 34And Mary said to the angel: How shall this be done, because I know not man? 35因为在天主前没有不能的事。」 35And the angel answering, said to her: The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the most High shall overshadow thee. And therefore also the Holy which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. 36玛利亚说：「看！上主的婢女，愿照你的话成就于我罢！」天使便离开她去了。

    路加福音Luke 1那时凯撒奥古斯都出了一道上谕，叫天下的人都要登记： | 1And it came to pass, that in those days there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that the whole world should be enrolled. 2这是在季黎诺作叙利亚总督时，初次行的登记。 | 2This enrolling was first made by Cyrinus, the governor of Syria. 3于是，众人各去本城登记。 | 3And all went to be enrolled, every one into his own city. 4若瑟因为是达味家族的人，也从加里肋亚纳匝肋城，上犹大名叫白冷的达味城去， | 4And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem: because he was of the house and family of David, 5好同自己已怀孕的聘妻玛利亚去登记。 | 5To be enrolled with Mary his espoused wife, who was with child. 6他们在那里的时候，她分娩的日期满了， | 6And it came to pass, that when they were there, her days were accomplished, that she should be delivered. 7便生了她的头胎男儿，用襁褓里起，放在马槽里，因为在客栈中为他们没有地方。 | 7And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him up in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. 8在那地区有些牧人露宿，守夜看守羊群。 | 8And there were in the same country shepherds watching, and keeping the night watches over their flock. 9有上主的一个天使站在他们身边，上主的光耀环照着他们，他们便非常害怕。 | 9And behold an angel of the Lord stood by them, and the brightness of God shone round about them; and they feared with a great fear. 10天使向他们说：「不要害怕！看！我给你们报告一个为全民族的大喜讯： | 10And the angel said to them: Fear not; for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, that shall be to all the people: 11今天在达味城中，为你们诞生了一位救世者，他是主默西亚。 | 11For, this day, is born to you a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord, in the city of David. 12这是给你们的记号：你们将要看见一个婴儿，里着襁褓，躺在马槽里。」 | 12And this shall be a sign unto you. You shall find the infant wrapped in swaddling clothes, and laid in a manger. 13忽有一大队天军，同那天使一起赞颂天主说： | 13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly army, praising God, and saying: 14「天主受享光荣于高天，主爱的人在世享平安！」 | 14Glory to God in the highest; and on earth peace to men of good will. 15众天使离开他们往天上去了以后，牧人们就彼此说：「我们且往白冷去，看看上主报告给我们所发生的事。」 | 15And it came to pass, after the angels departed from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another: Let us go over to Bethlehem, and let us see this word that is come to pass, which the Lord hath shewed to us. 16他们急忙去了，找到了玛利亚和若瑟，并那躺在马槽中的婴儿。 | 16And they came with haste; and they found Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger. 17他们看见以后，就把天使对他们论这小孩所说的事，传扬开了， | 17And seeing, they understood of the word that had been spoken to them concerning this child. 18凡听见的人都惊讶牧人向他们所说的事。 | 18And all that heard, wondered; and at those things that were told them by the shepherds. 19玛利亚却把这一切事默存在自己心中，反复思想。 | 19But Mary kept all these words, pondering them in her heart. 20牧人们为了他们所听见和看见的一切，正如天使向他们说的一样，就光荣赞美天主回去了。

I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.） ======== Tiding of Great Joy, Joy to the world The word 'Joy" camean happiness, gladness, delight, cheer, glee, gaity, intoxication, I get the idea. When Jesus says to the disciples at the Last Supper table: "I have told you this so that my Joy might be in You and your joy would be complete." he uses the Greek word "chara," taken from the word "charis" which means "grace". That's getting to the heart of what biblical joy really.means. Simply put, "grace" means God leaning toward me, bending over me, inclining toward me kindly, favorably. That's what God is and that's who God is for me. There is never a moment when God isn't bending toward me that way. No matter what the situation, God is leaning toward me kindly, favorably. And it's God's initiative. It's got nothing to do with whether I deserve it.
