During this time, she founded the charity Internet Sense First, which educates families and the public about online child safety while raising funds to support therapy for victims of Internet child exploitation. She is a member of several international committees and initiatives, and the producer/codirector of the award-winning documentary Vulnerable Innocence. Including her film awards, Dr. Charlene has had 41 awards conferred on her for her work and advocacy for the online safety of children.

    An author, Dr. Doak-Gebauer has written four books, with her latest release, “Eyes On The Internet” (a resource for parents, guardians, and professionals), earning the James Madison Literary Award for Authors and Books. Her advocacy and expertise have taken her to audiences across several countries worldwide.
    This work is so important. Children are being subjected to online challenges daily and so many people are unaware. Her proactive, user-friendly measures are necessary and provide parents and guardians with tools they need to keep children safe online.
