About this listen

Ranked Top 2.5% Globally Do you wish that you could lead your team in a way that honours and glorifies God? Are you struggling to overcome self-doubt as a leader and have a desire to be more confident in your role? Do you want the courage to deal with difficult people but don’t want to upset anyone? Well, you’re in the right place! On this podcast, I’ll teach you how to lead like Jesus, even if you’re not allowed to speak of your faith in your workplace. You’ll learn to become bold and confident as a leader, to speak up and say what God wants you to say and to finally know that you are worthy to be in your current role. Because God chose you, not because you are already a perfect leader, but because HE wants to mold you and use you to be an instrument in the kingdom of God. Hey, I’m Rika, and for the past 10 years, I’ve been in middle-management leadership roles, where I have led various teams, from big to small, and experienced my fair share of working with difficult people, having tough conversations, hiring and firing people and managing team dynamics. I thought that I could rely on worldly knowledge of leadership to get me through. I attended various leadership courses and listened to many leadership podcasts, but I was still struggling as a leader. I was feeling frustrated and to be honest, I was not enjoying my leadership role and felt like quitting more often than I probably should have! I finally realised that if I wanted to be the leader that I truly desired to be (which was a leader who wasn’t shy to speak up, a leader who honoured God with her actions and a leader who could build a cohesive team without the drama), I needed to partner with God and find a Christian leadership mentor to guide me and keep me accountable. I committed my leadership journey to God and partnered with HIM. I started working with a mentor and stepped out in faith as I did hard things every single day. And I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned with you! If you’re ready to lead your team in a way that honours God, I’m excited to be your mentor! So, grab your notebook and pen (and don’t forget that Chai Latte), and let’s unlock your God-given leadership potential! Next steps: Head to https://www.womenoffaithinleadership.com where you can: 1. • 133 | [Series] Leadership Struggles Women Don’t Talk About Part 2 - Hard Conversations
    Oct 13 2025

Most leaders would rather do anything than have a difficult conversation. But avoiding the hard stuff doesn’t build peace — it delays it.

In this episode of Women of Faith in Leadership, we continue our series Leadership Struggles Women Don’t Talk About with a conversation about what it really means to handle conflict and correction as a Christian leader.

    Together, we’ll unpack:

    • Why avoiding hard conversations can quietly erode trust and culture

    • How to approach them with truth, grace, and courage

    • A simple 3-step framework to prepare your heart and your words before you speak

If you’ve ever struggled to find the right words, feared being misunderstood, or wished for more peace in moments of tension — this episode will equip you with both biblical wisdom and practical tools to lead with courage and compassion.

Reflection Questions to Pray and Journal Through:

    1. What conversation have you been avoiding — and why?

    2. What fears are holding you back from speaking the truth in love?

    3. How can you prepare your heart before your next hard conversation?

Stay tuned until the end of the episode — I share a hint about something very special happening on my birthday, October 23rd! 🎉

  • 131 | [Guest] Restructuring Teams Without the Drama with Dan Tocchini
    Sep 29 2025

What if the breakthrough your team needs isn’t about working harder or chasing the latest trend, but about leaning into courageous, authentic leadership?

In this episode, I sit down with leadership expert Dan Tocchini, who has spent more than 35 years helping leaders and teams transform. From executive boards at ESPN and Interstate Batteries to nonprofits like Homeboy Industries, Dan brings a refreshing, no-fluff approach to building teams that thrive.

    Together, we talk about:

    • Why “magic” in leadership isn’t magic at all, it’s about clarity, courage, and commitment

    • How to navigate creative conflict without avoiding the hard conversations

    • What it really takes to build teams that aren’t held hostage by circumstance or history

If you’ve ever felt stuck as a leader or if your team feels weighed down by unspoken tensions, this conversation will encourage and challenge you.

    About Dan Tocchini

Dan Tocchini has been helping leaders bring some magic to their teams for over 35 years. He has worked with executive teams from Interstate Batteries and ESPN, to Smarty Pants Vitamins and Impulse Space, as well as with non-profits like Homeboy Industries and Defy Ventures. Dan gives a no-fluff approach by helping transform leadership teams without any pixie dust—just courageous leadership, creative conflict resolution, and relevant restructuring. No conversation is too difficult, no situation too conflicted, because a leader with a vision cannot be held hostage by circumstance or history.
