  • 9.6 Victoria Murgante Strikes a Chord
    Jul 29 2025

On this episode of Withywindle we are joined by the delightful Victoria Murgante, who’s debut novel, The Traveling Piano Man of Fort Whettershire, has been a hit ‘round these parts.

“In her enchanting debut novel, Victoria Murgante offers a story of beauty and substance about knowing and being known, exploring the value of true intimacy and the costly grace that makes it possible.”

This episode also features all the nonsense you’d expect, of course. Enjoy!

THIS SEASON we want to hear from you. Send us an audio recording of a book recommendation and a question, and you might end up featured on the show! Email those to podcasts@goldberrybooks.com

Also, leave us a review wherever you listen to podcasts, and your review might be read on the show as well.

A note about this season: David and I will be doing some traveling this summer, which will most likely cause a few gaps in the recording process. So if you don’t see Withywindle in your feed some weeks, don’t fret!

  • 9.4 Allan Wolf Joins the Withywindle Pack
    Jul 7 2025

The guys are back from England and boy are they jet lagged! Lots of sleep-deprived silliness, British chocolate taste testing, and more!

Luckily we recorded this episode’s interview BEFORE we went to England so our amazing guest didn’t have to put up with our zonked-out nonsense.

Our guest this week is a two-time winner of the North Carolina Young Adult Book Award, Bank Street College’s prestigious Claudia Lewis Award for Poetry, and Booklist has named his historical verse novel, The Watch That Ends the Night, one of “The 50 Best Young Adult Books of All Time.”

Allan is a man of many other skills as well. He’s also a third-degree blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do and can ride a skateboard standing on his hands. A true renaissance man.
