Since recording this episode, legislation to ban TikTok on all government employee devices has been passed by Congress and the Senate.

Marco Rubio has now proposed a bill that would ban TikTok and Bytedance operating in the US until it is deemed "safe" by the Biden administration's ongoing security review of the app.
