  • S1E12 | Doug Baldwin Jr. Part Two
    Oct 22 2025
This episode is a continuation of our conversation with founder, philanthropist, and Seahawks Legend, Doug Baldwin Jr. From a successful career in the National Football League to the founding of several entrepreneurial endeavors and non-profits, the proud husband and father of young daughters is constantly evolving while being guided by his faith and core tenet of "love." Doug's eight-year career with the Seattle Seahawks included a Super Bowl Championship and multiple Pro Bowl appearances. Playing for two behemoths in football - Jim Harbaugh at Stanford and Pete Carroll at the Seattle Seahawks - Doug solidified his reputation as a dependable receiver and a leader amongst his teammates, and discovered the type of culture he wanted to inspire. An ultra-competitor, his time on the field was not without its challenges. He learned from the mentors and models throughout his life, absorbed tough love and sage advice from his mom, and is turning the chips on his shoulder into wings. Following his retirement from the NFL in 2019, Doug shifted focus to social impact as Chief Executive Officer of Vault89 and Founder of the Family First Community Center. With a passion for creating empathic solutions to complex challenges, Doug is a recipient of the Martin Luther King Jr. Medal of Distinguished Service Award, the youngest ever appointee to the WA State Clemency and Pardons Board, and contributes to sports equity efforts in the Pacific Northwest as co-founder of Champions of Change alongside former teammates Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett. In recognition of his contributions, he received the Paul G. Allen Humanitarian Award at the Seattle Sports Commission's 88th Annual Sports Star of the Year Awards in February 2023. While Doug is the first to say he is still defining his leadership style, his eternal curiosity, humility, empathy, and competitive spirit are bearing fruit in the personal and professional spaces he enters. -- A Seattle Sports Commission Production with support from MetaMora Productions, Inc.
