We Own the Dark is back with a bloody new episode! This time we're engaging in a rousing discussion about political satire and Hollywood criticism. Jerry's choice of the French dark horror/comedy from director Jean-Christophe Meurisse, Bloody Oranges (2021), is paired perfectly by Jason with John Schlesinger's 1975 adaptation of Nathanael West's seminal novel, The Day of the Locust.

For lucky number 13 of We Own the Dark, Jason and Jerry enjoy a seemingly random but no less gorgeously dark double feature pairing. Jason introduces us to the breathtaking visual hysteria of Willard Huyck and Gloria Katz's Messiah of Evil (1973). We then move to a meditative, slow burn, isolation horror with Jennifer Sheridan's 2020 debut feature Rose: A Love Story.
