About this listen

On this episode, we sit down with Joey McNutt of Hinderless22 (hinderless22.org), a mission born from deep personal loss and unwavering purpose. After losing his brother, Ronnie — a veteran who took his own life as a result of his service — Joey and his family committed themselves to stopping veteran suicide and ensuring no family walks that road alone. With a dedicated team of five, Hinderless22 is building more than awareness — they’re building tiny homes for veterans in need. Through booth events, community outreach, hands-on construction, and balancing family life, this small but mighty team keep moving forward. While financial support is helpful, their greatest needs are building materials, resources, and volunteers willing to step in and serve. Hinderless22 also works to provide veterans with basic essentials, responding when calls for help come in — and they come in often. When veterans reach out, Hinderless22 shows up. 🎵 Music Feature: Jesse James Outside of his day job and VA appointments, Jesse James continues to pour his heart into songwriting. “23” — Written 23 years after 9/11, reflecting on that day and its lasting impact. “Enemies” — Co-written with Shannon Book and others, reminding us that disagreement does not make us enemies. “Mean” — A newer track with a simple truth: mean people suck.
