About this listen

Have you heard the news? Facebook is reportedly changing their name to signal that they are not a social media company but a Metaverse company. The change could be announced at the company’s annual Connect Conference on October 28th or earlier than that. Facebook has already announced plans to invest $50 million as part of its efforts to create a ‘responsible’ metaverse. It also plans to create nearly 10,000 new jobs in Europe as part of its ‘metaverse’ ambitions. That brings us to the question - What's The Hype with the Metaverse?

Welcome back to a brand new episode of What's the Hype? with Perfunktory, this is your host Ravdeep Anand.
