  • Narcissistic Abuse Fallout: Why the Pain Doesn’t End When They Leave
    Jul 22 2025

Episode Title: Narcissistic Abuse Fallout: Why the Pain Doesn’t End When They Leave

You’ve left the narcissist. You thought the hard part was over. But now… the real fallout begins.

In this episode of Real Talk: Divorce, Life & Everything In-Between, Lorene Roberts and Richard Morden dive into what really happens after a toxic relationship ends — and why the emotional wounds can linger long after your ex is out of your life.

Leaving a narcissist isn’t the end of the story — it’s the beginning of recovery. The gaslighting, emotional manipulation, love bombing, and control tactics may be behind you, but the damage to your self-worth, identity, and nervous system can stick around like an invisible weight.

    We break down:

    • Why survivors often feel worse after they leave
    • The identity crisis that follows emotional abuse
    • Why guilt, shame, and confusion are so common — even when you know they were toxic
    • How the narcissist’s voice becomes your own inner critic
    • The physical effects of long-term emotional abuse (fatigue, anxiety, insomnia, hypervigilance)
    • What decision paralysis and emotional numbness really mean
    • The importance of reclaiming your voice — and how to do it gently, one step at a time

This is not just an intellectual conversation — it’s raw, real, and validating. Lorene and Richard don’t just speak from professional knowledge, but from personal experience and deep compassion.

Whether you're just starting your healing journey or years out and still struggling with the impact, this episode will help you understand that you’re not crazy — you're recovering. And you're not alone.

    🎧 Tune in if:

    • You’ve left a narcissist but still feel stuck, confused, or ashamed
    • You’re dealing with the aftershock of emotional abuse
    • You want to understand why it’s so hard to trust yourself again
    • You’re ready to take your first steps toward freedom and emotional clarity

  • You Left the Narcissist… Now What?
    Jun 30 2025

You finally left. The narcissist is no longer in your life — but the emotional chaos still is.

In this powerful episode of Real Talk: Divorce, Life & Everything In-Between, hosts Lorene Roberts (Holistic Counsellor & Root-Cause Therapist) and Richard Morden (Divorce Coach & Emotional Resilience Practitioner) dive deep into the often-overlooked fallout of narcissistic relationships — what happens after the breakup, when the gaslighting stops but the self-doubt lingers.

Because here’s the truth: just leaving isn’t the finish line.
It’s the start of your healing journey — and it can feel overwhelming, lonely, and confusing.

🎙️ In this episode, we talk about:

    • What really happens after the narcissist is gone (hint: the damage doesn’t just disappear)
    • Why so many survivors struggle with identity loss, emotional flashbacks, and self-blame
    • How narcissists condition you to doubt yourself — even long after they’re out of your life
    • The practical and emotional fallout: finances, friendships, family fractures
    • The grief no one talks about — including mourning the person you thought they were
    • And why it’s totally normal to feel broken — but you’re not

🛠️ We also explore solutions like:

    • How to gently reclaim your sense of self
    • Using therapy, journaling, and trauma-informed tools to reconnect with your worth
    • Ways to rebuild trust — in yourself and in others
    • Simple steps for nervous system regulation when your world feels unsafe
    • The importance of community, boundaries, and compassion during recovery

💬 Real Talk Moments: Lorene and Richard share personal experiences, mistakes made, lessons learned, and the things they wish someone had told them during the aftermath. It’s raw, real, and filled with hard-earned wisdom.

If you’ve ever asked yourself: “Why do I still feel like this?”
    This episode is for you.

    You’re not alone.
    You’re not crazy.
    And you’re not broken — you’re healing.
