About this listen

Welcome back to the Sutta Meditation Series Podcast

This is the Dhamma talk with Metta Centre (SYD) on "Why we should become skilled in the ways of our own mind". This session was conducted via zoom.

Drawing from the Sacitta Sutta (AN 10.51), we will examine the Buddha's teaching on how to become skilled in the ways or nature of our own mind. The Buddha taught to train our minds as if our clothes or head were on fire. Through this, and another simile, he highlighted the benefit of regular self-examination towards abandoning unskilled states and developing skilled states of the mind. In this session, we will explore how we can apply this powerful teaching, which helps us to establish contemplation of the mind, undertake noble washing and activate the noble eightfold path.
