About this listen

Vince D’Amato has been working in the independent film & media industry, and creating entertaining fictional content, since 2001 when he started his first Vancouver-based production company. He has written and directed 7 feature films, all of which achieved worldwide distribution prior to him founding his own distribution company, Darkside Releasing, in 2017.

He has been writing the Horror Film column for the Canadian print magazine Absolute Underground since 2015 and has lectured for UBC’s Film Studies Department since 2014 for their third- and fourth-year classes.

A Canadian and Italian citizen, Vince was born in Vancouver, BC, to an Italian father and indigenous (Cree) mother, who is a residential school survivor from Saskatchewan. He identifies his company DDarkside Releasing as being Indigenous-owned and operated.

The Creative Way Podcast is a place for inspiring, hopeful, positive stories of creatives making their art in spite of everything! My hope and goal is to inspire other creatives to continue to create or to start creating again!
