About this listen

Today's episode focuses a little bit on the dire circumstance of vocal health in today's students. Like many other health issues, it's easy to say that children are a little immortal, or that "it won't happen to them" or that it is likely to only happen to the singers that tour, rehearse and practice for hours a day.

But that isn't true.

Isn't that what happens during the last few weeks of the musical? Aren't students singing for hours each day?

Voice issues and vocal nodes are issues that can happen to anyone, and it's our responsibility as music teachers to help students sing safely and pain-free, and to help them understand what that all means.
