Bernd Feuerhelm wurde 1943 geboren und wuchs in Berlin-Kreuzberg auf. In seiner Jugend entfloh er dem tristen, von Gewalt geprägten Nachkriegsalltag in die Schwulenbars und Tanzlokale der Stadt. Mit den damals vorherrschenden Männlichkeitsidealen konnte er schon früh wenig anfangen. Mode, Musik und Kneipen bestimmten stattdessen sein Leben. 1971 spielte er die Hauptrolle in Rosa von Praunheims Film "Nicht der Homosexuelle ist pervers, sondern die Situation, in der er lebt". Über das und vieles mehr haben wir mit ihm gesprochen.
