To mitigate the suffering of any one individual, Stella read the odd chapters and Ryan read the even ones, with the exception of chapter 1 & 16. They find David Lynch and Denis Villeneuve guilty of cowardice for omitting the dinner scene from their respective film renditions of Dune.
