About this listen

Mirza Raja made Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj sit in the meeting. From there, the king watched the attack on Purandhar. General Murarbaji led an attack with 1,500 Mawlas. Diler Khan, the Mughal commander, withdrew. Murarbaji continued his attack on Diler Khan but was struck by an arrow and fell. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the Maratha king, now faced a dilemma: should he risk everything to relieve Purandhar, or should he preserve his forces for future battles? Ultimately, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj decided to make a treaty with Udayaraje. As part of the agreement, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ceded 23 forts, including Purandhar, and agreed to pay an annual tribute of 400,000 rupees. Furthermore, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his son Sambhaji were to visit the Mughal court in Agra.
