  • Reading is FUNdamental: Interview with a Vampire
    Apr 15 2025

#2 in our Interview with a Vampire block is the original book by Anne Rice, published in the 1970's.

This og Southern Gothic tale started it all for the "Vampires have feelings too" story line. Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles paved the way for the new era of Vampire story telling that is still prevalent today.

Sad, sexy, brooding, emotional Louis and cocky, snobby and dangerous Lestat, a match made in Hell! Listen as Trashmouth who is a first time read tells us what she thinks about this book.

    Very few spoilers!

  • We Haz Much Excite: Interview with a Vampire
    Apr 8 2025

Continuing with Vampire season is our We Haz Much Excite episode and the beginning of our Interview with a Vampire unHoly Trinity; the series on AMC.

There will be a lot of spoilers in this episode so if you have not watched this show yet, you're gonna want to do that first.

This is a twist on the Anne Rice novel that we didn't want to end and thankfully for us and you...it's coming back with season 3 sometime in the next several months.

We really cannot recommend this show enough! The characters even more compelling than before which is due to the superb writing and actors.

Next week on our second Interview episode we talk about the book in our Reading is Fundamental episode.

  • Gone Too Soon: Penny Dreadful
    Mar 25 2025

We are back with our Gone Too Soon episode the dark and twisted Penny Dreadful. We know, we know it's not technically a Vampire centered show, but there is vampires and the most famous Vampire makes an appearance. We just really wanted to cover this hauntingly beautiful story and what better time to talk about it than during our Vampire season.

Penny Dreadful takes place in Victorian Era London which is arguably one of the best London eras to date--aside from all dirty air and tuberculosis.

Vanessa Ives the main character is fighting for her soul and her life with the help of some recognizable literary characters and a badass ensemble cast.

We talk about why this show has a firm spot in our Gone Too Soon category and what we think SHOULD have happened.

Join us next week when we talk about our One and Done episode Midnight Mass with special guest Janeka from the Scream Queen podcast. Make sure you check out her show and our episode with her on Thursday, March 27th where we talk about Jeepers Creepers.
