About this listen

The purpose of this podcast is to re-introduce the Hebrew roots of the faith back into the church. As we examine much of todays church tradition in contrast with the written text of the word, we seek to reposition the church back into the image it once had under the the Apostles. This podcast is designed to be an interactive Bible study, so engaging with one another is more than welcomed. I encourage you to like, subscribe and share this podcast with friends, family, and even on your various social media platforms. Subscribe to my webpage at https://podpage.com/torah-awakenings/

  • Beha'alotcha: Numbers 8:1-12:16
    Jun 11 2023

In this weeks episode, we get into Parasha Beha'alotcha, and discuss the cleansing of the Levites, as well as their length for service in the temple.  we also get into the second Passover, and why there is one. One of the most interesting aspects of this parasha is about the cloud that covered the tabernacle, and how when it moved, the people followed it whether it was day or night. We close this one out discussing YHVHs anger towards Miryam for speaking against Moses, and what we can learn from this event.

  • Parasha Nasso: Numbers 4:21-7:89
    Jun 2 2023

In this weeks parasha, Moshe does a census for the Levites and based on the lineage, gives everyone their area of responsibility as it related to temple duties. Moshe also explains the laws dealing with women who have husbands that have reason to believe that their wife has been unfaithful. YHVH then gives Moshe a prayer to teach Aaron and his sons, to say over the people. This is without a doubt one of the most beautiful prayers in Torah. When done correctly, YHVH assures Moshe that He Himself would come and bless the people afterwards. Unfortunately, today, many congregations recite this prayer weekly, however, not the way YHVH intended. Join us this week as we get into Parasha Nasso.
