Erin Klack, aka Angel Fire, has the most interesting and unique story. She is a farrier and blacksmith. The journey that got her there was very trying. Her husband, when she was 24 years old and unknown to her, was a scammer. He was found when he hired a farrier, paid him with a bad check and took off. The farrier just happened to be a retired SWAT Officer. The farrier’s name was Bob who took her under his wing and steered her towards learning how to shoe horses. As it turned out she loved it and got good at it. Erin’s been shoeing horses for twenty three years. She says her biggest challenge over the years has been being a woman in a traditionally male dominated trade. Her toughest clients, oddly enough, have been women. Men seem to be much more supportive. Her body is worn out from the heavy work. However, she does sculpture with horseshoes and has raised a lot of interest in her craft.
