About this listen

This Stays Between Us is more than just a podcast; it is a quiet revolution. It is a mic being passed to the girl sitting at the back. A gentle uproar against the systems that told us our worth as women lies in silence, in stillness, in being small.

Here, I gather the stories that live in the corners — unspoken, untold, tucked beneath generations of “what will people say?” Through intimate monologues, cultural reckoning, and gentle faith reflections, I invite you to remember the girl you were before the world taught you to hide her. With each episode, I peel back the layers of shame, expectation, and silence stitched into the seams of culture. I talk about body image, healing, modesty, desire, faith, and the quiet power of coming home to yourself.

Here, nothing is too small to matter.
Here, in this reflective space, this stays between us.

In the first episode of 'This Stays Between Us', I take you back to a moment where someone once said something that almost made me give up on my dreams. A boy who made me question my worth. But this episode isn't really about him. It's about the journey I took to silence his criticism and trust the voice inside me that said: 'I can do it'. In this episode, I'll be drawing on stories from my sixth form days, which feature:

    1. Hot, burning brownies that taste like sand
    2. A monumental, ground-breaking English literature exam
    3. A (chaotic) lunchtime debate club

And a high dosage of 'this girl can'!

So buckle up, and get ready with your notebook, your pillow, and your blanket. This one's a cosy one, perfect to hold a cup of chai and plug your headphones in.

    As always, bismillah.
