  • The World As I See It Episode 34: The Blind Advantage (What I See That You Miss)
    Mar 16 2026

In this episode, I’m taking a complete 180-degree turn from our last conversation. While we recently talked about those moments when navigating the world without sight can make you feel less confident or a bit overwhelmed, today I’m talking about the "Blind Advantage."

Most people look at my life and see what’s missing, but the reality is that I’ve developed a specific toolkit that most sighted people never even tap into. I’m sharing the things I am actually better at because I am blind—from catching details that others completely overlook to a unique way of judging who a person truly is. I also address one of the biggest myths about blindness that I hear all the time.

If you’ve ever wondered how a different perspective can actually be an edge, you’ll want to listen to this one.

  • The World As I See It Episode 33: Is Blindness Scary? (The Honest Truth)
    Mar 9 2026

I value your feedback and I would like some constructive criticism. What do you not like about the podcast? What do you love about it? What can I improve on? Be honest! What’s a topic that you want me to cover or any idea you want me to talk about? You can send me an email at theworldasiseeitpodcast@gmail.com. Nothing is offensive and nothing is going to be off-limits.

In Episode 33, I’m diving into a question many people are curious about but might be hesitant to ask: Does being blind actually scare me?

The answer isn't a simple yes or no. In this episode, I break down why "fear" isn't the right word for my experience. Instead, I talk about the role of confidence, the reality of overstimulation in places like city streets or crowded amusement parks, and how weather like wind and rain changes the way I perceive the world. I also discuss the vital importance of my tools, like my cane, and why my perspective as someone blind from birth differs from those who lose their sight later in life.

Join me for an honest look at how I navigate uncertainty, trust my intuition, and continue to show up and learn every single day—even when things get difficult.

  • The World As I See It Episode 32: The Big Question—Do I See in My Dreams?
    Mar 2 2026

I get asked this question all the time: Do I dream? And if I do, what do I actually "see"? Since I’ve been blind since birth, my dreams might be a little different than what you’d expect.

In this episode, I’m diving into how my brain builds a dream world using sound, touch, and smell instead of pictures. I also talk about why some of us forget our dreams the moment we wake up and that sudden "falling" sensation that jolts us awake.

    Feb 23 2026

I love to try new things even if it’s scary or challenging at first. I’ve mentioned before that I go skiing and I’ve even tried scuba diving. This was my third year skiing, and I’ve done scuba diving one time. In this episode, I breakdown exactly how I’ve done it and the amazing people who help make it happen.

  • The World As I See It Episode 30: Would I Put A Chip In My Brain To "Cure" My Blindness?
    Feb 16 2026

In today's episode, I’m talking about an article I saw regarding a new brain chip (Neuralink). The headline says it’s supposed to "cure" blindness, but there is a lot more to the story than that.

I’m sharing my honest perspective on whether I would actually let someone put a chip in my brain to see. It’s a choice that sounds easy to some, but when you live this life every day, it's a much bigger conversation.

What would you do? Reach out and let me know your thoughts!

  • The World As I See It Episode 29: The Silent Threat: Why I Don't Trust Electric Cars
    Feb 9 2026

In this episode, I’m trying something different by reacting to a news headline that hits close to home for the visually impaired community. I’m diving into the "silent threat" of electric vehicles—from the real-world dangers of quiet engines to the frustrating ways people are tampering with safety features. This isn't just news; it's my personal perspective on why silence on the road is a risk we can't afford to ignore.

  • The World As I See It Episode 28: Would I Choose Sight? My Honest Answer
    Feb 2 2026

In this episode, I’m getting real about a question a listener asked me recently: "Would you rather stay blind or be able to see? Can you explain which one and why you would pick that option?"

I dive into the physical reality of what gaining sight would actually look like—from building up eyelid muscles to handling the massive sensory overload of a grocery store—and why I’m genuinely happy with the perspective and life God has provided for me. I also discuss how technology like the Meta Ray-Bans and navigation apps, along with my community at SEKIA (South East Kids In Action), help me live life to the fullest.

    I Need Your Vote! 🗳️

I am letting you decide what we focus on next. Since you are listening on a platform without a poll, please email me your choice:

    * Option A: Headlines that affect the visually impaired. This is something I’ve never done before. This would involve reacting to news stories that specifically impact our community—like the rise of silent electric cars.

    * Option B: More Guest Conversations. Should there be more interviews like the one with Kailey? This would feature more guests sharing their perspectives.

    * Option C: A Brand New Topic. Is there a specific topic that hasn't been covered on my podcast yet? Drop your ideas in your email!

    Leave Your Feedback:

Along with your vote, please let me know: What do you like about the show? What should I change or do better?

Advocacy isn't always a loud speech or a political movement—sometimes, it’s just a small conversation at a restaurant or in a classroom.

In this episode, I’m diving deep into what advocacy looks like in my everyday life. I talk about the incredible support I have at school and home, but I also get real about the challenges of navigating the public world. From making sure I’m the one ordering my own dinner to the "prep work" of calling movie theaters for audio description equipment, advocacy is the bridge that lets me be a participant in life rather than just an observer.

I also have a specific message for my sighted listeners on how to be an ally without overstepping. Real advocacy is about standing with the visually impaired community, not in front of us.

Join me as I discuss why speaking up is a responsibility—not just for myself, but for every blind person who walks into the room after me.
