About this listen

Ever wondered why the Old Testament and New Testament are so different? As modern day believers do we really even need the Old Testament? This Podcast is designed to help bridge the gap between the Old and the New, and to help you see how connected they really are. Our goal is to put the two "Testaments" back together, so that we can get the whole story of what God is doing in our lives and in our world.

  • Episode 128 | In The Beginning, Logos
    Jan 5 2026

When John sits down and writes, "In the Beginning was the Word", he uses the Greek Word "Logos" for the word "Word". DId you know that this word is so full of depth and meaning to the original listeners? When they read John's introduction to his gospel, their minds would have been swirling as to what he was claiming. Listen in as Dave helps walk us through the powerful statement John makes in John 1:1.

Hebrews 5 describes believers who are still like infants because they are unfamiliar with the “Oracles of God,” a phrase most often connected to the Torah—the instruction God gave His people. At The Whole Testament, we recognize that many of us today are also “baby believers,” still learning the deeper truths of God’s Word. Our desire is to grow in maturity by learning to “eat” solid spiritual food.

This is the heartbeat behind our podcast. We want to engage Scripture in meaningful ways that help us grow. Some episodes offer brief reflections meant to spark fresh ways of thinking. Others take a deeper look at the Scriptures, inviting thoughtful study and reflection. Finally, we share conversations focused on how we can live out what we’ve learned by talking with people who are practicing these truths in their daily lives.

Our aim is simple: to pursue God’s Word with depth, understanding, and a desire to live it out faithfully.
