Kasper Goethals bezocht de laatste noordelijke witte neushoorns die nog in leven zijn. Met een resterende populatie van twee vrouwtjes, is de soort ten dode opgeschreven door toedoen van menselijk handelen. Choreograaf Gaston Core maakte een dansvoorstelling over deze laatste witte neushoorns. Zijn ze verdrietig? Levenslustig? Is die vraag antropomorf?
Christiaan Weijts ging in gesprek met Kasper Goethals over zijn ervaring bij deze dieren, de manier waarop het uitsterven van soorten onze morele verantwoordelijkheid voor het klimaat invoelbaar maakt, en de foto van de neushoorns die hij nog altijd in zijn huis heeft hangen.
