  • The Members - Episode 28 - Interview with JC Carroll

    This episode features the Band The Members. They were formed in Surrey, England, in the summer of 1977, the Members played at the Roxy and all the other Punk clubs on the london circuit. The original band were:-

    Nicky Tesco (vocals),

    Jean-Marie Carroll (guitar),

    Nigel Bennett (guitar),

    Adrian Lillywhite (drums),

    and Chris Payne (bass)

    Their first Record Solitary confinement was releases on Stiff records in 1978 and is now a collectors item they then signed to Virgin Records Their first Virgin single, The Sound of the Suburbs, reached #12 in the Uk charts selling 250,000 copies in 3 months (it has since sold 1,000,000 copies). Whilst they are probably best known for this single they had so much more and continue to record and tour today. The Episode explores, with JC Carroll, their story from back in the days of Ounk right through to the tragic death of Nicky Tesco and what they are doing now and what they did in the break before the reunion.   • Echobelly - Episode 27 - Sonya & Glenn Interviewed

    Echobelly are a band formed in 1992 and were integral to the britpop era of the 90's. Its a testament to their fan base and their music that they are still active today and are due to go out on a 30th anniversary tour of their album ON (Tickets available via https://www.seetickets.com/search?q=echobelly).     This episode features a short biography of the band and the interview with Sonya and Glenn starts around the 20.03 minute mark of the episode. Sonya and Glenn share the Echobelly story, their height of the single Great Things which reached no 13 in the UK charts and their story after that including their most recent work. They are open and honest about the music industry and have a genuinly fascinating story and if you want to know the background around britpop then its all here on this episode.   • Buzzcocks - Episode 26 - Interview with Steve Diggle

    Episode 26 features another one of our specials featuring an interview with Steve Diggle of Buzzcocks. for the few that perhaps aren't familiar, Buzzcocks are an English punk rock band that singer-songwriter-guitarist Pete Shelley and singer-songwriter Howard Devoto formed in Manchester in 1976. Devoto left the band in 1977 and formed Magazine.

    The classic lineup of Shelley, Steve Diggle (guitar), Steve Garvey (bass) and John Maher (drums) recorded Buzzcocks' first three albums, after which the band broke up in 1981. The band reunited in 1989 and released six more albums before Shelley's death in 2018 – Aged 63. The band has remained active, being anchored by long-time guitarist Diggle, who has since also assumed lead vocal and songwriting duties. The band's tenth album, Sonics in the Soul was released in 2022.

  • Rialto - Episode 25 - Interview with Louis Eliot

    Rialto were a Pop/Rock band formed in 1997 from the remnants of the band Kinky Machine. Probably best know for the songs Untouchable which made the top 20 UK chart and Monday Morning 5:19 which was a top 40 UK chart hit. The band made 2 albums, a self titled debut and a second album Night on Earth. Louis Eliot who was the principal songwriter, singer and guitarist talks to the podcast telling their story from their time between 1997-2002 and of course their recent reunion which has led to a new album (Neon & Ghost Signs) and tour. They are also touring with Sleeper in the autumn of 2025.

  • Ooberman - Episode 24 - Interview with Dan Popplewell & Sophia Churney

    The latest episode (no 24) of the Uncharted Sounds podcast features a band you may not have heard of but may have heard their music, a true uncharted experience this one, its the band Ooberman.

    Ooberman were formed in 1997 with an eclectic mix of sounds from bright & punchy to slower and softer described as “psychedelic folk prog pop”. They impressed Blur guitarist Graham Coxon who released their first single of his own label. And with a major label got a top 40 hit single. The band were initially Danny Popplewell – vocals, guitar, piano & violin, Andy Flett – guitar and backing vocals, Steve Flett – bass, Sophia Churney – keyboards and vocals, Alan Kelly – drums. Their biggest success single wise was Blossoms Falling which reached no 39 in the UK singles charts. As always their story has many twists and turns and is a genuinely fascinating story right through to what they are doing now and theres a sneak preview of that on the episode.     Dodgy are an English rock band formed in London in 1990. The band rose to fame during the Britpop era of the 1990s. They sold over a million records worldwide, released three albums and enjoyed 12 Top 40 singles, They are best known for their hits Staying Out for the Summer, In A Room, Melodies Haunt You and Good Enough Good Enough was their biggest hit,reaching No. 4 on the UK Singles Chart in 1996.


    In This latest episode of the Uncharted Sounds Podcast, Drummer Mathew Priest chats to us and tells all the stories about the bands rise to fame and how they are doing now as an active band but perhaps with less of the limelight. its a genuinely funny epsiode and Mathew is very candid and open about how the band dealt with that rapid rise to fame, the loss of main singer and songwriter Nigel Clark and how they all got back together again and are still a great band today.

Miki co founded the group Lush with Emma Anderson and was the bands vocalist, guitarist and Songwriter. Miki is very open and honest about the bands rise, their history and story and the episode also covers what happened post Lush with the band Piroshka and more recently the Miki Berenyi Trio. The Episode does contain strong language.

  • Episode 21 - Crashland - Interview With Alex Troup

    Crashland were a melodic indie rock band originating in Wales with loads of great songs. And they were very underrated in our opinion and are the epiotomy of our uncharted mission to bring the stories of bands that you may not have heard of to our listeners attention ! The band were together from 1996-2003 and were given the title of NME's next big thing alongside Coldplay on the cover of the NME.

    The lead singer and main songwriter Alex Troup went on to live in Los Angeles and started a new band called Troup with more of great songwriting.

    We will be putting a spotlight on this music and talking to Alex about Crashland and Troup Later in the podcast. The interview starts at around 18 minutes in after a short Biography of the band.

    This episode also features an absolute world exclusive which is unheard material that the band recorded but never released we have access to the demos and include a clip from one of the songs.
