湖裡住著鴨媽媽和七隻小鴨，
有一天，鴨媽媽正準備要帶著七隻小鴨在湖裡游來游去，
七隻小鴨在排隊時總是推來推去，
不想跟最小的鴨小妹排在一起，
因為鴨小妹長的又大又醜。
於是鴨小妹決定離開去找新朋友。
在路上，她遇到母雞媽媽，
母雞媽媽因為鴨小妹不能生蛋而討厭她。
又遇到了一隻黑貓，
但是黑貓因為鴨小妹長得醜要她走開。
就這樣，鴨小妹在寒冷的冬天獨自生活。
春天來了，水面變的溫暖，
她又開始在湖裡游來游去。
三隻天鵝看到鴨小妹，
游過來向她問好 : 「你好啊，漂亮的天鵝。」
鴨小妹驚訝地看著自己在水中的倒影，
原來她已經變成一隻美麗的天鵝了。
