Dave Morris Bio

Dave Morris is the CEO of climate and sport advocacy organisation FrontRunners, taking the reins from founding CEO Emma Pocock, after a decade with the Environmental Defenders Office (EDO).

As inaugural CEO of EDO Australia-Pasifik, Dave unified a network of legal offices into a single public interest legal centre which continues to serve the entire region. Under his leadership, EDO delivered landmark litigation and advanced the law on climate change, ecosystem protection and cultural heritage.

David has deep experience advising governments on environmental reforms and in 2016 received the Mahla Pearlman Award for Young Environmental Lawyer of the Year from the Law Council of Australia.

He is a former board member of the Australian Conservation Foundation and has held voluntary governance roles with Torquay Surf Lifesaving Club, and the Environment Centre Northern Territory. In 2022, David was awarded a scholarship to complete the McKinsey Executive Leadership Program.

Growing up playing cricket, Aussie rules, and deeply involved in the surf lifesaving community, Dave has a lifelong connection with sport, which currently lives on through his kids’ junior programs.
