Breakthrough Principles of the Tithe

Long before modern religious institutions existed, Abraham gave a tenth to Malakiy Tsadaq (Melchizedek)—and generations later, Ya’aqab (Jacob) vowed to do the same. Their actions reveal a principle that was already deeply connected to honoring, trusting, and walking in alignment with YAHUAH.

In this thought-provoking session, Scholar Jay Noland and Sister Lina follow the Scriptural foundation of Tithing from Barashiyt (Genesis) Chapters 14 and 28 into YAHUAH’s instructions in Dabariym (Deuteronomy) Chapter 14. Together, they examine why Abraham immediately gave a tenth, how Ya’aqab (Jacob) carried that understanding into the next generation, and why YAHUAH permitted the Tithe to be converted into silver—money—when necessary.

The discussion exposes the contradiction of dismissing the Ta’anak (OT) while continuing to use selected passages from it. It also explains why the Tithe was never merely about crops, livestock, or religious fundraising. At its foundation, it represents respect for YAHUAH, confidence in His provision, and a willingness to place every resource under His direction.
