Their family was thrust into poverty and homelessness due to their father's departure, their mother's inability to provide for them after her job loss, and the termination of aid. Despite grappling with his responsibility as the eldest sibling to his sisters and working to bring in some income, Jamal's tale reveals the harsh realities of homelessness, poverty, family dynamics, and survival.
