  • How direct work is transforming how children are supported
    Nov 27 2025
North East Lincolnshire's children's services received an overall good judgement in its recent Ofsted inspection with one outstanding judgement on the impact leaders have had on social work practise and supporting children and families.

Recently, North Lincolnshire Council launched a direct work toolkit aimed at children to make sense of living in conflict in families.

In this episode, listen to Ann-Marie Matson, director of children's services, and Hayley Smith, advanced social worker in the children's assessment and safeguarding service, as they reflect on the impact the introduction of the direct toolkit and other practice approaches have had on children and families.
