  • Episode 6 - Dull City
    Oct 9 2025

In this week’s episode, we are back on the Hod talking all things Sheffield United after a disappointing defeat away at Hull City. We dissect another frustrating afternoon for the Blades, breaking down the key moments, defensive errors, and missed chances that cost United once again. Jonny delivers his trademark player ratings (no punches pulled), while we both explore opinions on what this result really says about where the team is right now.

With the international break arriving at a crucial point in the season (and Matt not being able to tell the difference between a friendly and qualifier), we discuss what comes next for the Blades, from possible tactical tweaks to how the squad can reset and rediscover some confidence. We round off the episode by previewing the upcoming Watford clash, looking at what needs to change if United are to turn things around.

Thanks to Shaun, Scott and Lee as always for your work in making this possible!

  • Episode 5 - The U’s Giveth and the Saints Taketh Away
    Oct 1 2025

In this Hodcast we finally get to talk about a win – our first (and only!) of the season so far, away at Oxford. We go over what clicked on the day, which players stood out, and whether it was a sign of better things to come or just a rare bright spot in a tough campaign.

Back at Bramall Lane it was a very different story, as a refereeing horror show overshadowed the home defeat to Southampton. We break down the key decisions, vent a bit of frustration, and ask what more United have to do to get a fair shake.

We also take a step back and chat through some of the club’s biggest missed signings – those nearly-men who could’ve changed the picture – before turning attention to the return of Oli McBurnie as he lines up against the Blades this weekend.

To round things off, we look ahead to a tricky test against Hull City, asking where the points might come from and what United need to do to turn things around.

A big shout-out to Shaun, Scott and Lee for all their support, and a massive thank you to everyone who’s listened, shared, and got involved – it means a lot.

  • Episode 3 - Wilder 3.0 (and Ipswich away!)
    Sep 17 2025

In this episode of The Sheffield United Hodcast, we review United’s 5–0 hammering at Ipswich — a result that was the final nail in the coffin for Selles’ short and chaotic spell in charge.

We explore Chris Wilder beginning his third reign as Blades boss, discussing what Wilder 3.0 could look like, the challenges he faces in taking over a side low on confidence, and the potential lift his return might bring to both the squad and Bramall Lane.

Jonny is put to the test in a quiz all about some of United’s worst managerial appointments — from the forgettable to the downright farcical. (Matt has an epic maths fail too…) Finally, we look ahead to the Charlton match, weighing up how the Blades might respond and what fans can realistically expect in the short term.
