About this listen

This is a bedtime story for grown ups about you in the 1500's on a sailing ship on the ocean. You are an inventor and explorer. You are keeping a diary of your journey and a chest of items from your journey. The journey across the ocean is long and takes months. One night you enter a storm, but your invention with a gyroscope embedded within the keel and gyroscopes within the ship keep the ship level. You head into the Gulf of Mexico and eventually make landfall. The ships crew remain near the shore, exploring and mapping this area, while you set out for a many day hike through forest and over different terrain until eventually you arrive at a bustling Chichén Itza where you have heard about an enchanted, magical well. You are guided into a temple where you undergo a ritual involving consuming a sweet syrup-like substance, before being guided to a main chamber to drink from the well. You are then rested down onto a bed where you have a deep, personal, spiritual experience. You awaken from this experience a changed person, before heading back to the shore and then travelling back to Europe, where you write about your experiences and each night, drift peacefully asleep into Slumberland.
