What started this convo is E, discussing a convo with his mom over giving his kids an allowance. I chimed in and said it may depend on the child or person. It depends on what will motivate them to do what you are expecting them to do.

Everyone has a different thought process but trying to figure out the goal of why we are doing the things we are doing or what we are trying to get from it, is the tricky part.

We ended the conversation discussing the results of the elections, personal accountability and faith.

My daughter Sidney made a guest appearance and spawned the conversation to how E and I transitioned from having no kids, to having a newborn. A good question Erv ask me was “Do you think you were ready to become a father?”

We transition later into the Olympics and how everyone focuses on the events, and how amazing the performance is, but fail to realize the amount of effort and practice it took to make those things happen. We cannot miss how important it is to practice when no one is looking! The performance at game time is only the result of the effort and intention you put into practice!
