• Episode 168: "Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare" (1991) 👧🏻☠️🪦
    Aug 22 2025

    Welcome Back Radical Ones! ⚡️

This week on the show the end is here… or is it? Ryan and David chat "Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare" from 1991. But before diving into Springwood’s collapse and Freddy’s long-lost daughter, we kick things off by discussing the newly released Jason Universe short film “Sweet Revenge,” made in partnership with Angry Orchard. It’s the first official entry in the Jason franchise in 16 years. Can this cider-soaked mini movie capture the gory glory of the ’80s and ’90s slashers? And how does it connect back to Freddy’s world of dream-fueled chaos?

They even said they saved the best for last (spoiler… they didn’t! Ryan holds nothing back, calling the cast completely unlikable and the acting some of the weakest in the franchise. But here’s the real question: is Freddy’s Dead actually better than the movie Ryan loves to compare it to "Jason Goes to Hell?"

We also explore the theory that this isn’t the true ending to the Elm Street films at all, but instead the finale to Freddy’s Nightmares, the short-lived TV series.

So, grab your 3D glasses (or not), because it’s time to get radical and revisit the final nightmare… whether we like it or not.

"Murderous ghoul Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) has slaughtered every last child in his hometown. He ventures on to a new location, scouting fresh young victims to hack up with his finger blades. He arrives in a small town in which his long-lost daughter, Maggie (Lisa Zane), works as a therapist for troubled youths. He attempts to recruit her for his dastardly pursuits, but she has other ideas. Father and daughter meet for a bloody showdown that will determine Freddy's fate once and for all."

Stars: Robert Englund, Shon Greenblatt, Lisa Zane, Ricky Dean Logan, Breckin Meyer, Yaphet Kotto & Lezlie Deane.

    Welcome Back Radical Ones! ⚡️

This week on the show Ryan, Rob, and David are back with Alice in Freddys dream world! It's "A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child" from 1989! It's the darker, gothic entry where Alice returns, Freddy finds a whole new way to terrorize through baby Jacob, and one dinner party goes very wrong for poor Greta.

We ask the big questions: Did Yvonne basically do all the work in the final act? Was Alice “cut at the knees” compared to her Dream Master glory? And will poor Amanda Krueger really have to clutch her stomach like she’s got Freddy-induced IBS for the rest of eternity?

Plus before we go, Rob brings the laughs with a Nightmare on Elm Street-inspired word association game! Grab your pacifier because this lullaby turns into a scream... it’s time to get radical with The Dream Child!

"The fifth installment of the popular franchise focuses on Alice (Lisa Wilcox), a survivor of the fourth, who believes Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) has been eliminated for good. She optimistically hopes to start a life with fellow survivor Dan (Danny Hassel). The nightmares begin soon enough, though, and Alice learns she is pregnant. When her friends start dying, Alice suspects that Freddy is using the fetus within her as a weapon. Can she fight the demon while protecting her unborn child?"

Stars: Robert Englund, Lisa Wilcox, Danny Hassel & Kelly Jo Minter.

  • Nightmare On Elm Street Summer: Surviving the Night Bonus Game!
    Aug 11 2025

    Welcome Back Radical Ones! ⚡️

Rob steps back into the role of Game Master, resurrecting a fan favorite from his old FearBIAS (Bitch I Ain’t Scared) podcast and giving it a fresh coat of dream dust for "A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master!" from 1988!

This special Surviving the Night challenge puts Ryan and David’s knowledge to the ultimate test in a fight for their fictional lives from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Ryan has already survived Dawn of the Dead (1978) and Night of the Living Dead (1990) but can he beat Freddy? Can David’s long history with the franchise give him the edge, or will Rob’s devilish twists slash his chances?

Each question drags them closer to life or death. Did Ryan remember anything from the movie? Is this the end of our Radical Retro Brothers?

The dream demon’s shadow looms over every answer, and the only way out is to keep their wits sharp and their eyelids open until sunrise.

"Survivors Kristen, Joey, and Kincaid try to resume normal life—but Freddy returns. He kills Kristen and eventually transfers her dream powers to Alice, who evolves into the “Dream Master” and faces him in a final showdown."

Stars: Robert Englund, Tuesday Knight, Lisa Wilcox, Toy Newkirk, Ken Sagoes, Rodney Eastman, Brooke Bundy, Brooke Theiss and Danny Hassel.

    Welcome Back Radical Ones! ⚡️

This week on the show Ryan, Rob, and David are back and diving headfirst into "A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master" from 1988!

Right from the opening credits, we’re treated to Tuesday Knight herself (now playing Kristen) singing the moody, synth-soaked “Nightmare” theme which sets the tone for one of the most stylish and surreal entries in the series.

Freddy’s back, resurrected in one of the strangest ways possible thanks to Jason the dog, and he’s wasting no time hunting down the surviving Dream Warriors. But when their powers transfer to newcomer Alice, the fight for Springwood’s souls takes a turn.

From killer cockroaches to soul-eating dream sequences and a karate fight with an invisible Freddy, this sequel is pure late 80s horror excess. We’re talking dream logic, inventive kills, and an ending that leaves Freddy seeing his own reflection...literally! It's time to get Radical!

    Welcome Back Radical Ones! ⚡️

This week on the show Ryan and Rob are digging into "A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors" from 1987! This fan favorite brings Nancy back and gives us one of the most iconic entries in the entire franchise.

From dream powers that make you beautiful… and BAD to Freddy’s most memorable one-liners, we’re celebrating Heather Langenkamp’s return as Nancy Thompson, now older, wiser, and ready to help the next generation of Springwood teens take on the nightmare. We dig into the standout kills, emotional beats, and what was originally going to be the end of Freddy’s story. Sorry Wes, the box office brought him back for more.

So Radical Ones, grab your tricycles, puppet strings, and Hypnocil. It’s time to get radical and dream a little louder with Freddy!

    Jul 11 2025

    Welcome Back Radical Ones! ⚡️

This week on the show Ryan and David are digging into "A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge" from 1985. We’re back in Springwood for one of the most talked about and debated entries in the franchise. David feels that die-hard Freddy fans might not enjoy this one as much since it plays more like a haunted house movie than a true Nightmare on Elm Street flick, but we’re breaking it all down.

We also watched and discuss "Scream, Queen! My Nightmare on Elm Street" where actor Mark Patton shares his story of being a closeted gay man while starring in Freddy’s Revenge, a film he began to suspect had more than a little homoerotic subtext.

Radical Ones, is this the gayest Freddy of them all? We’re also introduced to one of the calmest, most no-emotion final girls ever, Lisa, and we wonder how she managed to keep it together while facing Freddy. So grab your school bus pass and your leather jacket because it’s time to get radical and face Freddy all over again!

"Jesse Walsh moves with his family into the home of the lone survivor from a series of attacks by dream-stalking monster, Freddy Krueger. There, he is bedeviled by nightmares and inexplicably violent impulses."

Stars: Mark Patton, Kim Myers, Robert Rusler and Clu Gulager.
