  • Our reflections on the Miami E-Prix, plus news on the Formula E documentary
    Apr 25 2025

An appraisal of Formula E’s surprising choice of Homestead as a venue for the tenuously titled Miami E-Prix is picked through after a messy end to a race that saw numerous penalties applied.

Pascal Wehrlein had elements of fortune on the way to his first E-Prix win of the season, while teammate Antonio Felix da Costa was one of several drivers to be scuppered by a late red flag for a multi-car shunt at a specially made chicane.

The possibility of Wehrlein retaining his title is dug in to, as is the poor early season form of Jaguar, who will lose its team principal James Barclay at season end. A miserable weekend in Florida from the Stellantis powered car is also analysed, as is strong performances from Nico Mueller, Dan Ticktum and Lucas di Grassi, the last of which scored a momentous surprise second place for a reborn Lola.

Latest news discussed includes the future of NEOM McLaren, the probable arrival of Opel and some details about a new documentary series which is set to hit the screens next month.

  • The big season interlude episode
    Apr 4 2025

Filling the gargantuan two month gap in the 2024-25 ABB FIA Formula E world championship season, Sam Smith and Andrew van de Burgt discuss several key talking points before the campaign resumes at Homestead, Miami next week.

The main topic of conversation is the messy collapse of an attempted takeover of the Maserati MSG squad, which Smith broke the news of recently.

Details of the aborted deal are discussed, as is the future of the Monegasque team and how it can attract a new owner and investor.

That topic segues nicely in to the potential future of the Stellantis brands – DS Automobiles and Maserati - as judgement day for these teams comes ever closer as they look at a long-term Formula E future in Gen4 for 2026 and beyond.

The recent Evo Sessions initiative is dug in to with Smith and Van de Burgt discussing unfamiliar territory questions such as How MrBeast came to Formula E, was Brooklyn Beckham quick, and could Sue Pollard and Christopher Biggins be the next big formula E influencers?
